Dallol Volcano in Ethiopia is a cinder cone volcano located in the hottest place on the planet, the Danakil Depression. It is formed through the intrusion of basaltic magma into Miocene salt deposits and subsequent hydrothermal activity.
Dalloll means dissolution or disintegration by the Afar people, which describes the green acid ponds.
