Reaching heights of about 15 meters the "Dragos Gemelos" are the oldest trees of La Palma on Spain's Canary Islands.

The tops of the trees are entangled which relates to the legend about two brothers who were in love with the same girl.  As the girl could not decide who, of the pair, she would marry the brothers fought to the death.

The girl was so saddened by the event that she would never marry.  She did plant a pair of dragon trees at the location where the brothers fought so they would never be forgotten.
